Locks 4 Vans is thrilled to be presented with the Business of the Year Award this year and be recognised as a leader in the Borough.
We are a local business attracting major talent, and our team is at the heart of what we do. As a business we’re expanding rapidly, and we are proud that 50% of our employees live in the Borough. Locks 4 Vans has been congratulated on how we have adapted, invested and demonstrated resilient growth over the past 12 months.
The Covid pandemic presented numerous challenges and Locks 4 Vans has focused on problem solving throughout. We chose to view the pandemic as an opportunity to thrive rather than just survive. During this time, we reviewed our organisational structure, staffing, operational efficiencies and processes – all with a view to shape the business to meet our ambitious growth plans for the future.
A key aspect of Locks 4 Vans’ growth has been the £2.5million investment to launch a new Innovation Centre, which underpinned the objective to expand our product portfolio. Based at our HQ in Gravesend, L4V seized the opportunity to create an R&D facility that would drive innovation and give us the ability to rapid prototype. Our testing laboratory and 3D printing capability provides us with a unique position in the industry. The end result is that we can create new products and get them to market in a third of the time, ensuring we can exceed the expectations of our customers and stay ahead of the competition. We can now anticipate new types of vehicle attacks and mitigate these risks even quicker to drive down vehicle crime.
One of the Award judges Keith Mason, Partner at Barnes Roffe LLP comments:
“From my perspective, I was very impressed with L4V’s commitment to stay one step ahead. This was demonstrated by the sheer scale of growth and development of their facilities since we last visited them. The level of investment in plant and machinery is a game changer for the business being able to react quickly to new demands and shows real progression during a difficult period”
